Max and the Lost Cat

Max is a boy. He is nine years old. He has a small dog. The dog’s name is Lucky. Max loves Lucky very much. One day, Max sees a little cat in the park. The cat is white and black, it looks sad. It does not run. It does not play. Max sits near the cat.
“Are you lost?” Max asks. The cat does not answer. Max looks around. He does not see other people. He does not see the cat’s owner.
“Do you have a home?” Max asks again. The cat only looks at him. Max picks up the cat. Lucky does not bark, Lucky is a good dog. Max walks to his house. He opens the door and sees his mum there. “Mum, can we help this cat?” he asks.
Mum smiles. “Yes, but we must find the owner. The cat cannot stay forever.”
Max is happy. He gives the cat some milk. Lucky sits near the cat. They are friends now. The next day, Max and Mom make a sign. “Lost Cat,” the sign says. They put the sign near the park. A girl comes one day. She looks at the sign.
“This is my cat!” she says. “His name is Felix! Thank you!”
Max gives Felix to the girl. She is happy and Max is happy too. Lucky wags his tail.
“Can we play in the park?” Max asks.
“Yes, you can!” Mum says. Max, Lucky, and the girl go to the park. They run and laugh. They play together. It is a good day for everybody.
