Learn more about your family
Read the definitions of family members. Pay attention to the words in bold. Прочитай определения членов семьи. Обращай внимание на слова, выделенные жирным шрифтом.
- Aunt: The sister of your mother or father. Example Sentence: “My aunt takes me to the park and buys me ice cream every Sunday.”
- Uncle: The brother of your mother or father. Example Sentence: “My uncle is a firefighter, and he saves lives.”
- Cousin: The child of your aunt or uncle. Example Sentence: “I love playing with my cousins during family gatherings.”
- Niece: The daughter of your brother or sister. Example Sentence: “My niece is the cutest baby I’ve ever seen!”
- Nephew: The son of your brother or sister. Example Sentence: “When I take my nephew to the zoo, he always likes to see lions and tigers first.”

Speak about your relatives!
Great! It’s finally the time when you can use the new words in your speech. You have to talk about your relatives but don’t worry, the following patterns will help you. Just put the names of your true relatives into the sentences. Here are the example sentences. Remember, you can always improvise. It means you can use different verbs or adjectives, negative forms instead of positive, and vice versa.
Отлично! Теперь время использовать новые слова в речи. Тебе нужно рассказать о своих родственниках, но не волнуйся, следующие формы помогут тебе. Просто подставляй имена своих родственников в предложения в примерах ниже. Помни, что ты всегда можешь импровизировать. Это значит, что ты можешь подставлять другие глаголы или прилагательные, использовать отрицательные формы вместо положительных и наоборот.

My relatives
- Talking about your Aunt: My aunt’s name is [name]. She is the sister of my [mother/father]. I love (don’t love) spending time with my aunt. She always (never) tells me interesting stories.
- Talking about your Uncle: My uncle’s name is [name]. He is the brother of my [mother/father]. I admire (don’t admire) my uncle because he is (not) a talented musician (an interesting person).
- Talking about your Cousin: I have a cousin named [name]. We have (don’t have) a lot of fun together. My cousin and I share (don’t share) the same hobbies and interests.
- Talking about your Niece: My niece’s name is [name]. She is my [brother/sister]’s daughter. I enjoy (don’t enjoy) playing with my niece and watching her grow.
- Talking about your Nephew: I have a nephew named [name]. He is my [brother/sister]’s son. My nephew and I love (don’t love) playing sports together.
