Lesson 12. What is your favourite colour?

Do you remember the names of the colours? Put the letters in the right order to uncover the colours and help Ayli to know how we, Earthlings, call them.

Let’s discuss
- What’s your favourite colour?
- What colour are your clothes?
- What colour does your mother/sister/brother/father like most of all?
- Do you know that each colour means something?
What is there in your wardrobe?
Look at the things. Match them with their names.

Count them!

Some of the things can be one, two, three, etc., like shoes: 1 shoe, 2 shoes, etc. But some things can be only two, scissors. In this case, you can answer the question “How many are they?” like this: “They are 2 pairs of scissors/ There are 2 pairs of scissors”.
In the picture below, find the pieces of clothing that have only the plural form.
Now say:
- How many pairs of jeans do you have? E.g.: I have two pairs of jeans/I have no jeans at all.
- How many pairs of shorts are there in your wardrobe?
- How many pairs of pants does your father have?
- How many pairs of glasses does your mum have?
- How many new clothes does your sister/brother/friend buy every year? E.g.: Many/Not many/A few.
Become a designer!
Group the clothes according to their colour.

You are doing great! Now find a perfect match. Click on the cards and match the pieces of clothing by their colour. Every time you make a match, say, for example: I put a red skirt with red shoes. Or: I take a pink blouse and a pink skirt.

- Card turns:

What to wear?
You did great in the previous tasks. Now, say what Ayli can wear for school. For a birthday party? For a holiday near the sea? For a gym? Choose from the clothes you see in the pictures below. When you finish, say to Ayli:
Wear a t-shirt for a walk. Put on a skirt for a party, etc.
That’s fantastic! But do you like magic things? Do you want to be a magician? Let’s go!
Secret of colours
Do you know that if you mix up different colours, a new colour turns up? Let’s check!

Mix up the colors to get a new colour.
Now make sentences like this: If I mix up green and red, I get brown. If I mix up red and yellow, I get … . If I mix up blue and … . Etc.
What is blue?
Let’s talk. First, answer the questions.
- What can be blue?
- Remember the things that are red.
- Remember yellow things.
- What is green?
- What colours do you need to paint roses?
- What colours are trees?
- What colour is your mood right now?
Tell a story

Now make up a story about some pieces of clothing you can see below. Say:
- Who wears them, why, when.
- Does this person clean the clothes well or not?
- Are the pieces of clothes happy to be with the person?
- Is the person happy to have them in the wardrobe?
Remember to say about the colour of the things. You can tell a story about Ayli too. Read the example:
Ayli has many clothes. She loves a blue skirt and a pink sweater very much. She wears them on holidays. For school, she puts on brown pants and a blue shirt. Ayli cleans her clothes every day, and they are happy to be in Ayli’s wardrobe.

Record your answer and send it to your teacher.
